SORIDARI/소리다리

Rooted in Korean heritage, reaching into the wider world!

In partnership with the Korean Cultural Center New York

Soridari, meaning “sound bridge,” is a new program that brings together 15–18 year-old Korean and Korean-American musicians with seasoned professional artists to rehearse and perform classical and contemporary chamber music as equal partners. Instead of the traditional teacher–student hierarchy, Soridari fosters true collaboration, helping young artists gain confidence, expand their networks, and grow as colleagues in the wider musical community.

In this inaugural season, Soridari will select two violinists, one violist, and one cellist to join its musicians in a culminating concert at the Korean Cultural Center New York — a celebration of artistry, collaboration, and cultural connection. In recognition of their achievement, each participant will be named a Soridari Young Artist Fellow and receive a $1,000 award to support their artistic development.

What makes Soridari unique?

Soridari opens a new space where Korean and Korean-American youth move beyond heritage-based networks to collaborate directly with diverse professional artists. Fellows rehearse and perform side by side with musicians from world-class ensembles including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Orchestra of St. Luke’s, The Knights, and A Far Cry — experiencing chamber music as true artistic partners.
